Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 May 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Star of the Page ("we", "us", "our"). They govern your use of our website, web app, and iOS app, which turn photos you upload into personalized coloring books. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who can use Star of the Page
You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. If you are between 13 and 18, you may only use it with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf. By using the app you confirm you meet these requirements and that the information you give us is accurate.
Your content, uploads, and likeness
You keep ownership of the photos you upload and the books you create. You are responsible for what you upload, and by uploading a photo you confirm that:
- you own it or otherwise have the right to upload and use it for this purpose;
- you have the consent of any identifiable person in the photo to have their image processed into a book; and
- for any photo of a child, you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or you have the parent or guardian's permission.
You grant us the limited, worldwide, royalty-free license needed to host, store, and process your photos and content for the purpose of operating the service and creating your books — including sending them to the third-party providers described in our Privacy Policy. This license exists only to run the service for you; we do not use your content to train our own models or for marketing, and the license ends when you delete the content or your account (subject to short technical delays and any records we must keep by law).
Credits, packs, subscriptions, and purchases
- Generating pages and training a custom character consume credits. Credits can be bought in packs and are also granted with certain purchases.
- The First Book is a one-time purchase that unlocks your first book and includes a starting credit grant.
- Style packs, print orders, and publishing packs are one-time purchases for the items described at checkout.
- Studio and Pro are recurring subscriptions that change what each generation costs and which features you can access.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the billing period shown at purchase until you cancel. You can cancel anytime; your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not charge you again after that.
- Prices are shown before you buy and may change for future purchases. We will not change the price of a subscription period you have already paid for.
Purchases made on the web are processed by Stripe. Purchases made inside the iOS app are processed by Apple as in-app purchases and are also subject to Apple's terms.
Refunds and cancellation
We want you to be happy with your book. Our refund terms are:
- First Book. You may request a refund of the First Book purchase within 14 days. However, because the book is digital content delivered immediately, by generating images you ask us to begin supplying it right away and you acknowledge that you lose the statutory 14-day cancellation right for the digital content already supplied. Outside of that, we may still offer a goodwill refund at our discretion — just ask.
- Credits and one-time packs. Credits and packs that have been used are non-refundable. Unused purchases may be refunded at our discretion.
- Subscriptions. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the current period. We do not give partial refunds for the unused part of a period unless the law requires it.
- In-app purchases (iOS). Refunds for purchases made through Apple are handled by Apple under its own process, not by us.
Nothing here removes the mandatory refund or consumer rights you have under the law of your country, including UK and EU consumer law and US state consumer law. For refund help, contact support@starofthepage.com.
Printing and self-publishing
The app can produce print-ready files, including files formatted for Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP). We are independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon. If you submit a book for printing or publishing, that platform's own terms apply and final acceptance of your book is decided by that platform, not by us. You are responsible for making sure anything you publish is something you have the right to publish.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Star of the Page to:
- upload photos or content you do not have the right to use;
- create content that is illegal, that sexualizes or endangers children, that harasses or defames others, or that infringes anyone's rights;
- upload images of a person without their consent (or a guardian's consent for a child);
- attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service, the generation system, or our providers; or
- resell or commercially exploit the service except as we allow.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules or that put users, children, or the service at risk, and we may remove content that violates them.
Intellectual property
You own your photos and the books you create. We own the app itself — our software, design, branding, and the underlying technology — and nothing in these terms transfers that to you. The AI models used to generate images are operated by our providers and remain theirs.
Disclaimers
The app uses AI, and AI output is not perfect — generated pages may not match your photo exactly, and results vary. The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind except those that cannot be excluded by law. We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, error-free, or that any book will be accepted by a third-party print or publishing platform.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or £100 (or its local equivalent).
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for your mandatory consumer rights.
Indemnity
You agree to cover us for reasonable losses and costs that arise from your breach of these terms or from content you upload that you did not have the right to use, to the extent the law allows.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer living in the UK, the EU, or the United States, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the place where you live, and you may also be able to bring a claim in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. When we make a material change, we will update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
